French painter and illustrator Hubert De Lartigue began his career with illustrations of science fiction, including book covers and pin-ups. Now he is best known from capturing his live models in sensual and alluring poses, often drawing particular attention to their lips. To create those stunning photorealistic portraits, he is using paintbrush and airbrush, he builds up coats of acrylic, then sands his works until brushstroke and other painterly gestures are practically invisible, rendering his surface almost as smooth as a photograph.
