Avast Antivirus Review

avast is one of the top security suites that are rated by users in the field. It is a strong choice for security for mobile and desktop devices is able to scan for malware and includes other features such as an anti-theft feature and software updater. It also has sandboxing technology which checks files for malware before they are loaded on your device or computer.

The user interface for Avast is clean and simple. The dashboard centrally displays all the tools the suite has to offer, with clearly defined icons. The menu bar and settings are clearly marked and any new issues show up in a tab called “message” on the dashboard. Avast’s full scan has a small impact on performance, and the suite is rated highly in protection tests against various types of malware, like ransomware.

Avast, however, made headlines in the late of 2019 and into 2021 when it began collecting and selling user information through an application called Jumpshot. Fortunately, Avast has ended this practice. It claims that it no longer will ever collect any user data to be used for marketing.

Avast offers different subscription plans for both users and companies. Its basic home plan offers protection for up to 5 devices for free, and its paid plans include greater coverage of devices and extra features such as password management and an ad blocker. Avast’s business plans offer more flexibility, as well as additional security features, such as encryption of internet traffic, USB port monitoring to protect against unauthorised storage on removable devices and a virtual private network for secure browsing.
