New Oscar de la Renta spring/summer collection is all about intricate florals, sheer lace and handcrafted embellishment. Full of pastel shades, the prim and proper silhouettes makes it look sweet. De La Renta delivered his signature ladylike glamor with a runway show that began with simple checkered prints perfect for the daytime. Meanwhile cocktail hour ushered in more formal numbers with colorful, embroidered florals and feather decorations. Miranda Priestly from “The devil wears Prada” probably would have said: ” florals? for spring? Groundbreaking” but in this collection this obvious pattern is balanced by black and white items from sheer lace. Finally, evening gowns where asymmetrical hemline which shortened at the front seemed to be a favorite silhouette of the season.
