First Woman Creative Director at Dior?

First of all this really exciting news is not confirmed by any of two great fashion houses, but maybe the long wait for a new creative director is over. Maria Grazia Chiuri is half of the designing team at Valentino and now it’s possible that she is taking over the house of Dior. Until this moment her name was combined with Pierpaolo Piccioli, her partner in crime with who she is working for over 20 years now. After  Valentino Garavani resign those two took over the lead in this great italian brand. We own them the new modern brand image. For all brands fans it is also not a secret that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, bring in a bit of art world into the Valentino collection.
They are not afraid of mixing romantic lace dresses with embroidered bomber jackets or embellish bags with colorful flowers. They definitely knew what they are doing, because since those two are in charge Valentino income increased more than fourfold.
What a tempting future for house of Dior, especially since this year brand income are falling. If this information is true and Maria Grazia Chiuri will be a new creative director she will probably add a little bit of romantic vibe in to the collection. It could be also complete change of direction after Ralf Simons sporty elegance.
