Of course is not coincidence that Alaïa was invaded to this eminent group, he is passionate about art for a long time and n Tunisia, where he was born, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. After his graduation, Alaïa began working as a dressmaker’s assistant. He soon began dressing private clients, and in 1957 he moved to Paris to work in fashion design. In Paris, he started to work at Christian Dior, Guy Laroche and or Thierry Mugler until he opened his first atelier.
We can say that Alaïa is simple sculpting his clothes. In fact he is not only creating such designs that highlight feminine shapes, but also make impression as if the dress was actually carved.  Yes “Couture/Sculpture: Azzedine Alaïa in the History of Fashion” at the Galleria Borghese is definitely worth seeing !!!
